You can find information about specific clubs, their events and meetings on the bulletin boards at The Landing. You can also reach out to Shelley Arroyo, Assistant Director of Student Affairs, who serves as staff coordinator for all student clubs.

Indiana University Columbus has several active clubs:

  • Biology Club
  • Bowling Club
  • Criminal Justice
  • Crimson Den
  • Crochet Club
  • Feminism Club
  • Gaming Club
  • Kappa Delta Pi, Alpha Beta Psi Chapter (KDP)
  • Latino-American Organization of Volunteers in Education (LOVE)
  • Psychology Club
  • Purpose Club
  • Spectrum
  • Student Government
  • Talking Leaves (student literary magazine)

“Plus, if you don’t see a club that interests you, you can always start your own!” Shelley added. Anyone can start a new club, you just need five students and a faculty or staff member to serve as you advisor.

Megan Kleinhelter, a junior majoring in Elementary Education, said her involvement with the feminism club has helped her build leadership skills, such as learning to prioritize and collaborating with different groups. She also enjoyed getting involved in campus-wide events, including Demin Day and Welcome Week.

Joining a student club is a great way to get to know people who share your same goals and interests — who you may have never had a chance to meet otherwise.
