A season of achievements for Student Affairs

From student activities to wellness programs to facilities updates, Student Affairs continues to serve and support students in impactful ways.

Students are at the heart of everything we do. The Division of Student Affairs is committed year-round to creating meaningful experiences, inclusive spaces and support systems that help Jaguars thrive during college and after graduation. See how we’ve helped shape campus life this spring.

  • Fraternity and Sorority Life members established partnerships with 45 different organizations in Indianapolis, completed 5,693 hours of community service, and donated $38,931.85 to philanthropies.
  • Over 3,100 events were submitted in The Spot, and 26 new student organizations were established this spring.
  • During Jagathon’s Marathon to Miracles Jan. 29–30, $19,522 was raised for Riley Hospital for Children, with $227,000 being raised throughout the year.
  • Winter intramural sports saw double the participation compared to past years with the addition of pickleball and badminton.
  • Campus Recreation partnered with the IU Natatorium and Athletics to host the first-ever Cold Plunge during Stress Busters Week.
  • Campus Recreation and the Campus Center team collaborated to host an Alienware mobile gaming hub on Vermont St.

  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) saw an increased utilization of clinical services by 16% compared to last spring, providing 2,157 clinical contacts.
  • CAPS’ interpersonal violence prevention program piloted the JagsCulture workshop this spring with over 200 participants, and they launched a student programming coalition for Sexual Assault Prevention Month, bringing together 15 different student orgs.  
  • In the monthlong Jagzzz Sleep Well Challenge, 365 participants created healthier sleep routines and increased the number of days they woke up feeling rested an average of +1.4 days per week.
  • The Safer Sex Supplies program distributed 6,508 products across 307 student visits this semester for a total of 18,412 products and 892 visits this academic year—the second-largest year in program history.
  • Paws’ Pantry hosted 4,029 appointments for students.  
  • Campus Health launched sending appointment reminders via text message this spring, sending over 400 texts to students.

  • Housing and Residence Life completed construction on floors 6, 8, 9, and 10 of University Tower. Third-floor construction began this spring, and floors 4, 5, and 7 will be completed this summer.
  • Construction of the new Esports Lounge began in the Campus Center. It is on track to be completed for fall 2025.
  • New people-counting technology was installed in internal spaces of the Campus Center, like the CUBE, quiet lounge, and billiards lounge to better understand usage. In the month of April, the CUBE counted more than 8,000 people.
  • The Group Practice Room (CE 031) was renovated and will be made available to student organizations who focus on dance and movement. It has a laminate floor, mirrors, new audio-visual equipment, and is soundproof.
