On September 27, 2022, the Fairbanks School of Public Health celebrated its 10th anniversary. With an emphasis on our health administration programs, we have pulled together some milestone events and stories from the last 10 years!
Our Master of Health Administration program celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019.
Our undergraduate Health Services Management (HSM) program received full, national accreditation from the Association of University Programs in Health Administration in 2021, making it the only certified undergraduate health care management program in Indiana.
In April 2016, we launched the Eskenazi Health Scholars Program, which offers dual degree MHA/MPH students the unique opportunity for hands-on training in the health system.
Former Health Policy and Management Chair, Dr. Nir Menachemi, was promoted to Executive Associate Dean of the Fairbanks School of Public Health. Dr. Chris Harle is serving as Interim Chair until a national search is launched.
Students’ internship capstone projects were showcased through the Institute for Engaged Learning in 2022 and 2021.
For the past six years, our MHA students have competed in the UAB Case Competition – read stories from 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Our Health Services Management alumni worked throughout Indiana hospitals and health care facilities responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Early in the pandemic, the Fairbanks School of Public Health partnered with the Indiana Department of Health to conduct a statewide study measuring the prevalence of COVID-19.
The Fairbanks School of Public Health became a founding sponsor of the newly launched National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE Indy) chapter. NAHSE is a nonprofit association of Black health care executives founded in 1968 for the purpose of promoting the advancement and development of Black health care leaders and elevating the quality of health care services rendered to all constituencies, especially minority and underserved communities. NAHSE includes leaders from all across the United States.
