Congratulations to the team at Bradford Woods for securing nearly $150,000 through the Lilly Endowment’s Capital Project Initiative for Residential Youth Camps, Phase 1.
According to the Lilly Endowment, “The aim of the initiative is to help Indiana residential youth camps improve the overall camp experience and outcomes for youth through new, enhanced and expanded facilities integral to quality youth camp programming.”
This funding allows Bradford Woods to assess and prepare for potential capital projects.
“My hope is to take a pragmatic approach to the facilities and improve buildings on our current footprint rather than add new structures,” said Andrew Young, director of Bradford Woods. Young and his team are drafting a proposal for Phase 2, aiming to develop a 10-year management plan informed by the Phase 1 assessment.
Meanwhile, Bradford Woods leadership is forming an Advisory Team of community partners and organizations to give them a voice in how projects that affect Bradford Woods’ diverse camp population are served.
